Sunday is probably my favorite day of the week. It is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the previous week while looking forward to the week ahead. It's like New Years but on a much smaller scale!
All of the tasks that I complete on Sunday revolve around self-care. Self-care is not simply indulging in whatever you desire, but rather doing the things that your future self will thank you for.
These things aren’t always fun, but they will definitely set you on the right track to achieving your goals and simplifying your life.
Here is a small list of things that you may consider adding to your Sunday to-do list.
1. Clean and organize around the house.
We all get busy during the week, and it can be difficult to find the time to clean. Instead of worrying about tackling your entire house in one day, make a weekly cleaning checklist that you can complete each Sunday.
The point is to allow yourself the window of time to clean without worrying about perfection. Having a more tidy and clean space will boost your productivity throughout the coming week.
I promise you that just a little time tidying for a cleaner space will boost your productivity.
2. Plan your week.
Planning is something that is very important, but when other bigger tasks and deadlines are looming, we forget to do it.
The planning process differs for each person, but it's more about making it a priority. Repeating the process will smooth out any bumps.
Pull out a notebook and a pen, and get to work!
Firstly, write down things that you have scheduled. This could be school, work, meetings, appointments, and more.
Next, think about the additional time you have in your week, and how you'd like to spend it. If you want to lose weight, go to the gym or take a walk with your extra time. If you want to become an author, use your additional time to write. These moments may seem small, but they are pivotal for setting you up for achieving your goals. The time for action is now.
Having your week planned gives you a more detailed idea of how to tackle each day, so you can be way more productive.
3. Journal
You may not think of yourself as somebody who journals, but journaling allows you to keep a record of your life that you can appreciate in the future. Write about your experiences, thoughts, feelings, plans, and anything else that you can imagine!
You may think that you understand yourself, but you'll be surprised by what may come out onto paper. This can help you gain a new perspective and offer solutions that you hadn't considered previously.
(Plus, it's so fun to go through old journal entries!)
4. Self-Love (+ Show Love)
Here is where you can really treat yourself (in a healthy way). Take a nice bubble bath, moisturize, do yoga, a clay mask, drink tea, read a book, etc.
Sometimes we neglect ourselves when life gets busy. Make time to love and pamper yourself, because you deserve it!
In the process of loving yourself, don't forget to love the people in your life. Use words of encouragement, listen more than you speak, and be mindful of how you can have a positive impact on others.
Thank you so much for reading! I truly hope that this list helps you find ways to use your Sundays in a productive way. We all need time to reset, prioritize, and get our lives together.
